BUTTEVILLE COMMUNITY CHURCH
COVID-19 Updates & Safety Steps in place at BCC
Hello everyone! Thank you so very much for helping us follow the Oregon State guidelines and shine the love of the Lord to this world by keeping each other and our Church as safe as possible during these times!
FACE COVERINGS
Beginning July 1st, Governor Brown has expanded the order that requires individuals wear face coverings while in indoors to be in place statewide. This includes faith gatherings.
The entire guidance document can be found here.
A few notes about the new guidance:
-
Face coverings are required for adults and children over the age of 12 while visiting indoor businesses, including faith gatherings, unless there is a medical condition or disability that allows for an exemption (please see guidance for those exemption details). This includes employees and volunteers.
-
Children between the ages of 2-12 are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings, but they are not required.
-
Musicians - Face coverings are not required for musicians while singing or playing an instrument if at least six (6) feet of distance is maintained from others. When not performing, all musicians must wear face coverings during gatherings. This includes before, during and after services.
-
Teaching/Preaching - Face coverings are not required while faith leaders are teaching/preaching. However, a distance of at least six (6) feet must be maintained between the speaker and audience. When not teaching/preaching, all teachers/preachers must wear face coverings during gatherings. This includes before, during and after services.
-
Communion Elements - If your congregations will be taking communion elements:
-
Use of a common communion cup is not recommended. If distributing communion from the cup cannot be omitted, consider distributing it in separate cups from a platter, spaced so that communicants can select a cup without touching the others.
-
Face coverings can be removed to partake in communion elements, but should worn again once the consumption of food/drink is complete.
-
Offices - Employees, contractors and volunteers: Masks, face coverings or face shields are not required when at or in a location where the employee, contractor or volunteer is not interacting with the public and six (6) or more feet of distance can be maintained between other people.

CLEANING & SAFETY
For each service, chairs are placed 6 ft apart from each other to help promote social distancing. They are disinfected and cleaned after every service. Bathrooms, doors and any high-traffic areas are also cleaned before and after each service.
Again thank you for helping us do our best to reach, teach and glorify God together!
